Casing point
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000571
The target depth in a wellbore at which drilling is stopped to run and cement a string of casing. This depth is predetermined in the well plan based on geological formations, pore pressures, and wellbore stability requirements. After the casing is cemented in place, drilling resumes with a smaller bit to extend the well to the next casing point or to total depth.
