Production casing

The final string of steel pipe set in a wellbore, extending from the surface to the producing formation, through which hydrocarbons are produced. It is cemented in place to isolate productive zones and provide structural integrity for the well. The inner diameter of the production casing determines the size of the production tubing that can be run.
