Driller's depth

The measurement of the depth of a wellbore as recorded by the driller at the rig floor. This depth is determined by counting the number of pipe joints run into the hole or by using a depth counter on the drawworks. It serves as the primary reference for all downhole operations and is regularly compared with wireline or logging depths for accuracy.
