Machine learning (ml)

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002247

A subset of artificial intelligence in which algorithms are trained on data to find patterns, make classifications, or predict outcomes without being explicitly programmed for each task. Machine learning (ml) models in oil and gas are used for predictive maintenance on pumps and compressors, analyzing seismic data to identify potential reservoirs, and forecasting commodity prices. The three main learning paradigms are supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning.
