Artificial intelligence

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000189

The application of computational algorithms and machine learning techniques to analyze vast quantities of geological, geophysical, and production data for reservoir modeling. Artificial intelligence systems identify complex patterns and correlations in datasets that are too large or subtle for human interpretation alone. These methods are applied to tasks such as seismic facies analysis, automated well log correlation, and predicting reservoir properties away from wellbores.
