Milankovitch cycles
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002366
Long-term cyclical variations in the Earth's orbital parameters, including eccentricity, axial tilt (obliquity), and precession, which influence the amount of solar radiation received by the Earth. These cycles are believed to be a primary driver of glacial and interglacial periods over geological timescales. Their periods range from approximately 20,000 to 400,000 years.
