Wireline log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004171
A continuous record of formation properties measured against depth by an instrument package lowered into a wellbore on an electric cable. These tools measure electrical, acoustic, and radioactive characteristics of the rock and its contained fluids. The resulting data are plotted as curves on a depth track, which geoscientists and engineers interpret to identify productive zones and calculate hydrocarbon volumes.
