Term · Oncology and biomedicine · MLC-T-ONC-002320

  1. A drug used to treat adults with myelodysplastic syndromes, including chronic myelomonocytic leukemia. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Decitabine stops cells from making DNA and may kill cancer cells. It is a type of antimetabolite. Also called Dacogen.

  2. A cytidine antimetabolite analogue with potential antineoplastic activity. Decitabine incorporates into DNA and inhibits DNA methyltransferase, resulting in hypomethylation of DNA and intra-S-phase arrest of DNA replication.
