Slice
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000354
To convert a three-dimensional digital model into a series of two-dimensional layers or cross-sections, each representing a specific height of the object. This process generates the toolpaths and instructions that a 3D printer uses to build the part layer by layer. Each slice contains information about the geometry and infill for that specific layer.
