Tumbling
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000397
A post-processing technique used in additive manufacturing to smooth and finish the surfaces of printed parts. Parts are placed in a rotating barrel with abrasive media, which tumbles against the part surfaces to remove support structures, reduce layer lines, and improve surface roughness. This method is effective for batch processing small to medium-sized parts.
