Vapor smoothing

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000404

A post-processing technique that uses a chemical vapor to dissolve and reflow the surface of a 3D printed part, reducing layer lines and improving surface finish. The part is exposed to a solvent vapor, which briefly softens the outer layer of the material. This method is particularly effective for parts made from ABS or ASA plastics.
