Soluble support material
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000361
A temporary material printed alongside the primary build material to provide structural support for overhangs and complex geometries during the additive manufacturing process. This material is designed to dissolve or disintegrate when exposed to a specific solvent or water after the print is complete, leaving behind only the finished part. Common soluble support materials include PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) for FDM and certain wax-based resins for other processes.
