Ampulla

A flask-shaped or dilated part of a tube, duct, or canal in an anatomical structure. This expanded region serves as a reservoir or a site for specific physiological processes. Examples include the ampulla of the fallopian tube, where fertilization usually occurs, and the ampulla of Vater in the digestive system.
