Inguinal canal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005841
A short, oblique passage through the lower anterior abdominal wall, present in both males and females. In males, it serves as the pathway for the spermatic cord to descend into the scrotum, while in females, it transmits the round ligament of the uterus. This anatomical structure is a common site for hernias due to its inherent weakness.
