Inhalation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013191
The process of taking a substance into the body through the respiratory system by breathing. This route of exposure involves the movement of gases, vapors, aerosols, or particulates from the external environment into the lungs, where they can be absorbed into the bloodstream or exert local effects. The absorbed dose is determined by factors such as the concentration of the substance in the air, the duration of exposure, and the individual's breathing rate.
