Ectrodactyly
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003566
A congenital limb malformation in which one or more of the middle fingers or toes are missing, leaving a cleft down the centre of the hand or foot, the pattern called split-hand/split-foot or lobster-claw deformity. It occurs on its own or as one feature of a genetic syndrome, and severity runs from a shallow cleft to loss of every digit except the outermost ones. EEC syndrome (ectrodactyly, ectodermal dysplasia and cleft lip or palate) is a well-known syndromic form caused by mutations in the TP63 gene.
