Cleft palate

A congenital malformation characterized by an opening or split in the roof of the mouth, which can involve the hard palate, soft palate, or both. This condition arises from the failure of the palatal shelves to fuse during embryonic development. It can lead to difficulties with feeding, speech, and hearing.
