Palatine raphe

A raised ridge of tissue running along the midline of the hard palate, extending from the incisive papilla anteriorly to the soft palate posteriorly. It represents the line of fusion of the two palatal shelves during embryonic development. This anatomical landmark is visible in the oral cavity.
