Free-running laser
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004664
A laser operating without any Q-switching or mode-locking elements in its optical cavity. This mode of operation results in a continuous or quasi-continuous output of light, often with multiple longitudinal modes oscillating simultaneously. The output power and temporal characteristics are determined by the gain medium and cavity design.
