Q-switched laser

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009715

A type of laser that produces high-intensity, short-duration pulses of light by modulating the quality factor (Q) of the laser's optical resonator. This technique allows for the accumulation of energy in the gain medium before it is rapidly released. Q-switched lasers are widely used in applications requiring high peak power, such as material processing and medical procedures.
