Ectopic pregnancy

A pregnancy in which the fertilized egg implants outside the main cavity of the uterus, most commonly in the fallopian tube. This condition is a medical emergency as the developing embryo cannot survive and can cause severe maternal complications. It occurs in approximately 1-2% of all pregnancies.
