Exposure assessment

The process of measuring or estimating the magnitude, frequency, and duration of human or ecological contact with an agent. This involves identifying the sources of the agent, its pathways through the environment, and the populations or organisms that may come into contact with it. It quantifies the dose received by a receptor.
