Exposure characterisation

The qualitative and quantitative description of the nature and extent of exposure to a contaminant. This includes identifying the sources, pathways, and routes of exposure, as well as estimating the concentrations, frequencies, and durations of contact. It forms a key part of the overall exposure assessment process.
