Glans

A small rounded, sensitive mass of erectile tissue that forms the head of the penis or clitoris and is richly supplied with sensory nerve endings. In the male the glans penis is the expanded distal end of the corpus spongiosum and carries the opening of the urethra, and in uncircumcised males it is covered by the prepuce. In the female the glans clitoridis is the small exposed tip of the clitoris.
