Health surveillance

The systematic and ongoing collection, analysis, and interpretation of health data for specific populations, followed by the dissemination of these data to those who need to know. This process is used to monitor health trends, identify health problems, and evaluate the effectiveness of public health interventions. It is a key component of occupational health programs.
