Macromolecular crystallographic information file
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006874
A standard text file format for exchanging data from macromolecular crystallography experiments, such as those involving proteins and nucleic acids. It uses a structured syntax of data names (tags) and values to record experimental conditions, atomic coordinates, crystallographic parameters, and other metadata in a self-defining way. The format, known as mmCIF, is the standard for deposition to the Protein Data Bank (PDB) and is maintained by the International Union of Crystallography.
