Regularization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010121
A technique employed in computational modeling and machine learning to prevent overfitting by adding a penalty term to the loss function. This penalty discourages overly complex models that might perform well on training data but poorly on unseen data. L1 and L2 regularization, also known as Lasso and Ridge regression respectively, are common forms used in statistical modeling.
