Underfitting

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012423

A condition in statistical modeling or machine learning where a model is too simple to capture the underlying structure or relationships within the data. This results in a model that performs poorly on both the training data and new, unseen data, indicating a high bias. Underfitting often occurs when the model complexity is insufficient for the complexity of the dataset.
