G-fold cross validation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004870

A technique for assessing the predictive performance of a statistical model by partitioning the original dataset into G distinct, non-overlapping subsamples, or folds. The model is trained G times, each time using G-1 folds as the training data and the remaining fold as the validation data. The final performance metric is the average of the results obtained from the G validation tests.
