Undersampling

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012424

The process of acquiring data at a sampling rate lower than twice the highest frequency component present in the signal, which is the Nyquist rate. This can lead to aliasing, where high-frequency components in the original signal appear as lower-frequency components in the sampled data. Undersampling can result in a loss of information and misinterpretation of the true signal characteristics.
