Interference
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005940
The effect caused by a component in a sample matrix that alters the analytical signal of the analyte, leading to an inaccurate measurement. This can result in either an enhancement or suppression of the signal, or the generation of a spurious signal. Interference contributes to systematic error in analytical determinations.
