Spectral interference
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011128
An effect in spectrochemical analysis where the analytical signal from an analyte overlaps with a signal from another component in the sample matrix or from the instrument itself. This overlap can lead to an inaccurate measurement of the analyte concentration. It is often addressed by selecting different analytical wavelengths or by applying mathematical corrections.
