Interference record

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005945

The raw signal obtained from an interferometer, typically a plot of intensity versus optical path difference. This record contains all the spectral information encoded as an interferogram. A Fourier transform is applied to the interference record to convert it into a conventional spectrum, such as an infrared absorption spectrum.
