Interferogram
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005949
A plot of the intensity of radiation detected by an interferometer as a function of the optical path difference between two beams. This raw signal contains all the spectral information in an encoded form. A mathematical operation, typically a Fourier transform, is applied to convert the interferogram into a conventional spectrum.
