Continuous scan interferometer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002502
An optical instrument that measures the interference pattern produced by splitting a beam of light and recombining the two paths after introducing a continuously varying optical path difference. This variation is achieved by moving one of the interferometer mirrors at a constant velocity. The resulting interferogram is then Fourier transformed to yield a spectrum.
