Rapid-scan Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009928

A spectroscopic technique that acquires a complete interferogram, representing the infrared absorption spectrum of a sample, in a very short time frame. This is achieved by rapidly moving the mirror in the interferometer, allowing for the capture of transient species or fast chemical reactions. The acquisition time for a single spectrum can be as low as milliseconds.
