Interfering substance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005948
A chemical species present in a sample that affects the response of an analytical method to the analyte, leading to a biased result. This substance can either enhance or suppress the analyte signal, or produce a signal itself that is indistinguishable from the analyte. Its presence requires consideration in method validation and sample preparation.
