Analytical function

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000551

The function that gives the measured amount of an analyte from the instrument reading, with the concentrations of interfering substances held constant. It is obtained by regression of the calibration results and is the inverse of the calibration function, which expresses the reading as a function of concentration. A measured signal is converted to a concentration by evaluating the analytical function at that reading.
