Calibration component

A specific chemical species or physical property within a sample that is used to establish the accuracy and precision of an analytical instrument. This component has a known concentration or value, allowing for the adjustment of the instrument's response. For instance, a known concentration of a pollutant gas can serve as a calibration component for an air quality monitor.
