Interfering lines
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005947
Spectral lines originating from species other than the analyte that overlap with or lie very close to the analyte's analytical line. These lines can cause spectral interference, leading to an erroneously high or low measured signal for the analyte. Careful selection of analytical wavelengths or spectral deconvolution techniques are often required to mitigate their effect.
