Interferent
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005946
A substance present in a sample that causes an interference effect, thereby altering the analytical signal of the analyte and leading to an inaccurate measurement. Interferents can be other chemical species, matrix components, or physical factors. Their presence necessitates careful method development or compensation strategies.
