Nyquist frequency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008168
Half of the sampling rate of a discrete signal processing system. It represents the maximum frequency that can be unambiguously resolved in a sampled signal without aliasing. Any frequency component in the original signal above the Nyquist frequency will appear as a lower frequency in the sampled data, a phenomenon known as folding.
