Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004567

A phenomenon in digital signal processing where frequencies higher than the Nyquist frequency are incorrectly represented as lower frequencies after sampling. This aliasing effect occurs when the sampling rate is insufficient to accurately capture the true frequency components of a signal. It can lead to misinterpretation of spectral data in techniques like Fourier transform spectroscopy.
