Nystagmus

Involuntary, repetitive, and rapid movements of the eyes, which can occur from side to side, up and down, or in a circular pattern. In the context of neurotoxicology, its presence indicates a disturbance in the parts of the nervous system that control eye movements, such as the brainstem or cerebellum. The condition can be congenital or acquired through disease, trauma, or exposure to certain neurotoxic substances, including alcohol, sedatives, and some industrial solvents.
