Sexual maturation

The biological process by which an organism develops the ability to reproduce sexually, involving the development of secondary sexual characteristics and functional reproductive organs. This process is regulated by hormonal changes and typically culminates in puberty in mammals. It marks the transition from juvenile to adult reproductive capability.
