Maturation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007038
The process by which a cell or organism develops from an immature form to a fully functional, adult state. In immunology, this involves the differentiation of immune cells, such as B lymphocytes or T lymphocytes, from precursor cells into mature, antigen-responsive cells. This developmental progression often includes changes in gene expression, morphology, and functional capabilities.
