B-lymphocyte-induced maturation protein 1

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001400

A transcriptional repressor protein that drives the terminal differentiation of B lymphocytes into antibody-secreting plasma cells. This protein, also known as BLIMP-1, suppresses the expression of genes associated with B-cell identity and proliferation, while activating genes involved in antibody production and secretion. Its expression is tightly regulated during the germinal center reaction.
