Total quality management

A management approach for an organization, centered on quality and based on the participation of all its members, aiming at long-term success through customer satisfaction and benefits to all members of the organization and to society. It involves a continuous, organization-wide effort to improve processes, products, and services. The principles of TQM are often formalized in standards such as the ISO 9000 series, which provides a framework for quality management systems.
