Accelerometer

An electromechanical device that measures acceleration forces, including the static force of gravity and dynamic forces resulting from movement or vibration. In mobile devices, it detects orientation, screen rotation, and motion-based inputs for applications and games. The output is typically measured in units of gravitational force (g).
