Accelerometer

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000020

A sensor that measures acceleration, which is the rate of change of velocity, typically in units of meters per second squared (m/s²) or g-forces. In geophysics, accelerometers are used in inertial navigation systems for seismic surveys and in downhole tools to monitor vibrations and movement. They provide data for correcting sensor positions and analyzing tool dynamics.
